If you want to keep the same name, you can try this: rename the object, duplicate it, delete original model and then rename the duplicated model to what it was...
You need to apply transformation for your object(s). Press ctrl+a with them selected and choose all transformations.
No idea what you mean by 'upside-down'. Also yes, that's intentional. They take the name of the collection because you can have multiple spheres/meshes in the same collision model.
Is it just the name for the UV map or is there anything else wrong?
I don't think the issue mentioned above is the reason for the crash. It's more likely that the exported col file had the wrong name.
