Ah, in that case, we probably need to do something like that in the SDL_image CMakeLists.txt for those frameworks. Can you take a look?
I put it in the 3.2.0 milestone because presumably it also affects SDL3.

Yeah, there's no option to remove that unfortunately.
I think the plan is to make it customizable like this.
SDL3 did not drop OpenGL and GLES. They are still available and the SDL opengl and opengles2 renderers will remain indefinitely. All of the existing tricks to use GL shaders...
