When the controller is reset, it cannot control the relays so they switch off. No code is running at that point, so I cannot affect the relays at that point.
This is by design. It prevents cross site scripting attacks, this shouldn't be a problem unless the controller has been rebooted and you didn't refresh the webpage.

Hi Donnib, doesn't the Victron inverter stop charging automatically at its set voltage? Why does the BMS need to tell the charger to stop? (unless in a critical situation)
You could simply download the file via a web browser and then upload after the upgrade. No SD card required then.
No you didn't miss anything, I was just mentioning that an SD card wasn't mandatory, other methods could be written.
