I suggest you take a look at https://crates.io/crates/spirv-cross2, although, fair warning, this exposes a much different API than `spirv_cross`.
Oops, looks like there's a rebase artifact leftover. Let me fix that...

Seems like more tests need to be updated. I ran glslangtests with --update-mode but it seems more needs to be done?
Managed to get the `runtests` tests to run and updated those results as well.

Not sure if this is useful or not anymore, but I've recently updated my [Rust bindings to spirv-to-dxil](https://github.com/SnowflakePowered/spirv-to-dxil-rs) to build with just `cc`.
