The dmesg log does not indicate that the r8152 USB Ethernet device was recognized. Please use lsusb to verify that it is connected at the USB level.
If you are using SMB(file share) and can consistently access it using the IP address, then it's an issue with the machine name resolution service. And this makes it important...
Unfortunately, this model is not supported because it uses an outdated platform.

Is the environment, such as the connected switch and cables, exactly the same as when you tested using DS423+?

Whether Jumbo Frames improve performance depends on the switch, use case, and environment. Performance is not guaranteed to improve. Also, just to be sure, please check that SMB3 is enabled.
