Maybe it would be worth to move the BLAT containers to nf-core/modules instead, importing them from there and making sure that they are already updated / matching the latest standards...

Would something like Parquet do the job too? Better support across languages etc... not sure this helps a lot though, but it does speed up things https://parquet.apache.org/
