Which cut-scene? The intro [FMV](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Full-motion_video)? Did you try to enable mode 3+5+6 or at least 5+6?
Why you turn on modes 1+5? By "I installed it through smb", "But the install version runs awesome and perfectly", you mean that you have it on your PS2 HDD?...
What kind of an error (exactly) are you getting? What do you mean by "back to menu"? Which menu? OPL menu, FMCB menu, etc? `PS2 logo` works on a `PAL`...
Did you try any compatibility modes? E.g. `1`+`6`.
