You mean it freezes at this screen:
If yes, I have the same issue. Compatibility modes do not help. I even tried a few old builds (.e.g. 0.8, 0.9) and a USB device. None of the above help.
Have exactly the same problem as previous commenter while loading game from internal HDD.
Had the same issue. Found something online. Use v093 and use mode 5. And it works
Thanks for the tip. It should also work with OPL v1.1.0. (modes 5+6).
Although I wonder what does actually mode 5 do?
In an user guide:
Emulates DVD-DL for flatterned DVD9 images to DVD5 image using rip kits. DVD-DL support must be emulated because OPL will otherwise treat such a disc image as a regular single-layer disc. https://web.archive.org/web/20200622004114/https://bitbucket.org/ShaolinAssassin/open-ps2-loader-0.9.3-documentation-project/wiki/game-settings.
This game only takes 1155563520 bytes = ~ 1 102,03 MB. So there should not be any need to use it, right?
It froze on me after the cutscene. So I installed it through smb. also used mode 5. Runs perfectly. And no idea about mode 5. Miami vice had the same prob
Yeah the first one. But the install version runs awesome and perfectly
Why you turn on modes 1+5?
By "I installed it through smb", "But the install version runs awesome and perfectly", you mean that you have it on your PS2 HDD?
By "It froze on me after the cutscene." you mean that you tried it through network (SMB) or through USB?
Since this game did not work for me even using different compatibility modes I removed it. So I can't test it again. But if you to put as solved do as you wish
I was just testing a hundred or so of Isos in newer version only for researching and found a couple that didn't work. But I deleted all of those games after the tests
Actually didn't notice mode 1 was on. Works so it's cool.
Think I got my copy off pureroms. Came on bin format. Used opl manager to rewrite to iso. USB extreme to install to C drive. Moved it with USB utility to my ps2smb folder. Turned on mode 5 and that's about it
Can confirm that (Mode 1 + Mode 5) fix the problem
