I don't think this is the same as `validate_check_constraint`, and is not supported for all adapters.
This feels similar to #51814 and that has been more or less accepted, so I wonder if that would solve your needs.

I went back and dug up #25197 but I think what we should probably be discussing is whether to actually deprecate `form_for` and `form_tag` at this point. Sometimes these things...
There was a backport in #50705 but I don't have enough context here to say whether or not this is closed.
I believe this was fixed by #51779, @mohits can you verify? If someone can reproduce, please feel free to re-open.
