I think this is obsolete due to the network installer.
if the pcap have data it should still be ok, particularly if some heuristics like "2G downgrade" start firing. but the V7 is generally not well-tested.

yes, except we don't specifically need USB debugging or adb, any way to acquire root shell will work.
the storage path is configurable and not tied to the binary, though hidden in the UI. the config file path is hardcoded in init scripts
cc @oopsbagel, not sure if we can support installation procedure on arbitrary firmware though.

@bsickler i think you're right, it's entirely unused. don't know when that happened. feel free to file a PR. at least the route can be removed in rust.
