Seems to work ok on master. QGIS 3.42 uses untwine 1.5.0 though, while 3.40 is on 1.4.0
Master is the development version, 3.43, which will eventually be released as 3.44 and is available through the nightly builds. However, regarding untwine, it should be the same as 3.42....
I think the error message is quite clear: this installation does not include PDAL, so no point clouds support. The mingw builds do not include PDAL, try downloading the windows...
What's the data source format? Are other users / other applications / database triggers modifying the data at the same time?
Do the layer and project use the same CRS? Is your data within the CRS extent?
The same goes for _multi select_ panel and _measure_ panel, possibly others too. All uses of `showInfoTextMessage()` should be checked.
Temporarily adding it to the currently opened project can also be useful.
@jlaura Can you please describe what is wrong with the rendering? The link you provided does not have a 2D view of the data to compare. Furthermore, it uses _Altitude_...
