Shadow issue remain with latest push (antialiasing affecting whether shadows work or not)
@x2048 possible, but not likely. This is with the current Nvidia driver and only with this change. Lemme try with Intel as well.
Nope tested with NVidia and Intel. Definitely something weird. Shadows are off when starting Minetest, then when switching antialiasing (without existing Minetest) shadows show up again. Again. With both NVidia...
I doubt I'm exhausting 4GB of VRAM. Hmm... It really just happens with this enabled on both NVidia and Intel. I'll more tomorrow.
I had the shadowmap size set to 4096. When I set it back to 2048 I get the shadows again in all cases. Before this change, though, I could even...
I tried the "godrays" and it's pretty awesome! Helps with immersion. Let's track down the (probably) memory issues, so we can merge this. Then we can do the rays in...
After flying around for a while, even with a shadowmap of a size 2048 the shadows eventually vanish. @x2048 why would we use more VRAM with this? Edit: This is...
I traced VRAM usage... In the worst case this is using 950MB of my available 4GB. I also trace the order in which pipelines and shadow renderers are created. No...
OK. Did that (and I already had weather disabled - or rather shadows set to 0.7). I see the debug textures displayed, so it's a shader issue then.
Even with the latest push I see shadows missing in about 50% of restarts. Sometime they only show on entities, or own solid blocks, or just on water. As said...
