This issue has been fixed with a recent update.
I have this version installed and it's working fine for me ``` cosmic-files: Installed: 0.1.0~1755744274~24.04~f06029f ```
You can attain the same behavior by keeping a Files window for preview as floating while keeping others tiled.

It's working fine for me. Even snappier when I'm not using OBS to record https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/8943cf19-f869-45a1-ac45-19649f086d4d
This seems to have been fixed with some updates that Cosmic Files received
The issue has been surfaced again 
This issue persists for me. It's now Day 2 after a clean install of Alpha-6 
Is this still an issue?
