IMO: icons vs app. If app is started in retina env, the UI is drown correctly, only the icons are wrongly scaled. So I would fix the icons first :)

That doesn't work for me. Maybe some UAC restriction.
The lowest one possible without modyfing registry. So it's not disabled (change Win8×Win7) Disabling is possible just through registry, but it also disables running any metro application.

Definitelly. Currently, it will be watching only one file. This should be pretty straightforward.
