This really shouldn't be an issue per se. You can change the user agent in the settings.

@marcodeppe , FaceSlim is attempting to remove the tracking that Facebook uses. If these links aren't handled, when returning to FaceSlim you'd have a blank white page.

FaceSlim is not indicating you have a new message, Facebook is. It's a bug* on the Facebook mobile site.

@jidanni why would the notifications item disappear when notifications are turned off? How would someone turn them back on? Or in any case, why would it need to "disappear"?

That's how it works on the mobile site.
