This has actually already been implemented in Pop!_OS and is available via the recovery partition: https://github.com/pop-os/installer/pull/172 . https://github.com/pop-os/upgrade/pull/71 will make the feature accessible from the user session.
So https://github.com/system76/ec/issues/2 is happening again? Have we confirmed that the screw nearest the power button on the bottom of the system is screwed in sufficiently?
Neither of these behaviors sound out of the ordinary to me. In wanting to confirm that, I took a look at the oryp5. The oryp5 did not display the disk...
I had no issues with usb-c nor hdmi on the lemp9 in regards to this issue.

Customer brought this up and without changelog in github, support had their back up against the wall as well.
It appears this issue happens before that change as well.
