You're right that you need to use the server side data about the events, but you shouldn't have to hijack anything, just define particle parameters and register a custom particle...
I think you could get away with making the particles emissive ? Or maybe not if it's caused by the fog; I guess you will need to experiment a bit
This seems a bit too specific for the main API. Would this help with interoperability in any way ?
Sorry for the delay, and good analysis on your part. My general advice would be to defer any use of `ChunkAccess` in the constructor, possibly using patterns like lazy initialization....
