lint and pre-commit are failing. Once you get that fixed up we can get this one merged in.
This looks like a possible duplicate of https://github.com/saltstack/salt/issues/60123 Can I close this issue in favor of that one, since its assigned out and scheduled for the 3006 release?

I think I tend to side with @OrangeDog 's concern that this argument is a very specific use case others would likely not use, and would best be settled with...
This PR requires a test case, a changelog file and looks like previously pre-commit was failing.
