Hm, what about highlighting them in the sky once the list is selected? I feel a visual representation is very helpful here. (This might go into that other request)
Perhaps also adding atmospheric extinction, just like for TOAST. For example, the Mellinger survey would look better with extinction and fading in and out with twilight.
I hadn't considered RemoteControl, it might meet some of my needs. Otherwise a TimeStepper plugin would be a great solution, but I can't help with that, sorry.
If it's urgent, a simple texture would suffice, possibly edited into the landscape's night-light texture.

Exactly, I want them separated just like in the SMS viewer. There is no other use than "for fun" or "might be interesting".
It would also be nice if the `landscape.ini` could set the atmosphere texture, so that we can get e.g. skies in Mumbai to look credible in an according landscape panorama....
