I think I found a workaround. If you call `minetest.load_area` around the entity position right before calling `minetest.add_entity`, entity spawning seems to be reliable. I'm not 100% sure about this...

Well, it is wildly inconsistent then. You can walk through ghoststone, but sand on ghoststone doesn't fall down? And when you drop a sand through ghoststone, it goes through again....
