That is indeed quite a lot of RAM. I'm guessing that you're working with several projects at once, or is that a single project? EDIT: You mentioned four total projects....

Try reinstalling the TextMate plugin from PeepOpen preferences, and re-start TextMate. We fixed the TextMate plugin to work better with directories that have spaces in the filename. I'm not sure...

I've also experienced this, but only with some TextMate projects. One appeared to be a case-sensitivity issue but I haven't been able to figure it out yet.

Interesting idea! We just published a big 0.3.0 update with a lot of stability fixes and will look at this for a future revision.
