That's a great idea. I didn't realize that Emacs keys were supported...it's built-in to Cocoa. But it was on my list to implement, so I hope to add Vim bindings...
The new native (Objective C-based) TextMate plugin in 0.2.1 will help us provide more natural sorting of files, even if they weren't modified. I can't promise a release date but...
That's an interesting idea! Maybe it could take an argument like "-w" and return the name of the selected file.
