Everything mentioned in this bug (except dynamically allocating event callbacks, which we do not have a demonstrated need for) has been addressed, so I'm closing this one.
This doesn't seem to be a recurring problem, I'm going to chalk it up to OpenGL weirdness for now as it is not reproducible and close this.
