Just closing old issues. Nothing has been specifically done in regards to this issue. However this issue may have been fixed in version 2 because the default Config.Settings.tabOverlapAllowance is 0.

Which Golden Layout API do you use to add it again. Are you reloading the layout or using addComponent or use a drag source (etc.)?
