Currently the update check just scrapes a webpage for links. So it works pretty well, and would theoretically work with non-GitHub release pages if I had to relocate these releases...

Currently the menus let you install a soundtrack but there's no option to remove it (or to delete the associated zip, if it's not auto-deleted).
2.0 will have the option to launch "plain Quake", mainly in order to make it quicker/easier to set up initial configuration there. For completeness should it also give the option...
