For my files, I spotted that Unicode ligatures with "f" (e.g., "fi") are replaced to "f". Instead of "artificial intelligence", you end up with "artifcial intelligence".
It's easy to crop many PDF files (to remove footers and headers) if they from the same source. But marker apparently ignores mediabox and cropbox, extracing content outside of them....
