I get a similar error complaining the python bindings are not compatible. However, I've installed `clang` and `python2-clang` via system's package manager and they have the exact same version.
It'll be great if we can make the path configurable so we put the image snapshots in a completely different directory

The current AppImage was built using that method and it doesn't work :)
I've packed a new AppImage using the the same method for 3.0.1, can you check if it runs on Ubuntu 14.04 now?
Seems it hasn't been fixed at all. Ubuntu 14.04 will be EOL in one year time btw
