It's hard to say without the Unity log but from some of these logs it looks like it's probably related to #3066 , #3093 , #2041
The ones where it's crashing later have controller switches happening before the game crashes. That's the most consistent part of that crash.
That setting only disables the gamepad while the game is unfocused, while the game is the foreground window my guitar will still spin me in place.
That would be the best option long term, since I also made an issue for more generic gamepad support.
