@andersy005 made some cool updates to the CI for xgcm in https://github.com/xgcm/xgcm/pull/330. Wonder if we should add some stuff like dependabot here?

I would model it after xgcm, and maybe add some instructions how to skip certain ci parts (#34). This should however be in an 'advanved' section.
