What config file would that be? `autoexec.cfg` is not used by the single player engines if you made one of those. It would be autoexec_sp.cfg
Code is the same in both projects. Would need some others to clarify and see if reproducible
Not convinced this is related to openjk or if it's always been non functional until others try it
Neither of these are OpenJK related?
I was stating neither of the listed projects are OpenJK affiliated. Contact support with those projects JKXR and JK Companion no idea where those are from.
Comparison videos or screenshots? Which cg_shadows option is this one again? 2 or 3
This is standard behavior of the mod code deferred loading and is not a rendering issue. The default value is turned on in vanilla and off in missionpack. https://github.com/ec-/baseq3a/blob/master/code%2Fcgame%2Fcg_cvar.h#L78
