Hard to diagnose without any logs (see https://quodlibet.readthedocs.io/en/latest/development/contributing.html#filing-bug-reports for how), or track data here. In general, having musicbrainz data (e.g. `musicbrainz_albumid`) is one good way to get better quality lookups.
This won't work without a migration - as all users will have their entire libraries changed without warning.
