This has been implemented. #8677 provides a possible fix for codes that relied on a static exec space.
I downloaded GoogleTest v1.14.0 from https://github.com/google/googletest/releases/tag/v1.14.0 and added the whole directory after expanding the archive.
Apparently support for `.clang-format-ignore` files was only added in Clang-Format 18.1.0
