The library doesn't support that right now (PRs welcome). You could implement this by recording how many steps occur in the same direction. Reset the count if the direction changes....

I wonder if the scale change in 1.1.18 means the bevel is just really small. I haven't had luck reducing realScale (hang) or increasing the bevel option (no effect)
