note there are 2 tests failures on debian: Result: failed: /home/build/pkg/tests/lib/pkg_osvf.c:200: obj != NULL not met
everything looks ok to me to the exception of the ecosystem matching which imho should be string comparison based, and not based on enums

the pkg: Package database is busy while closing! was a pkg bug which has been fixed in 2.2.*
if we are in the trolls you can build meson without python using muon ;)
I have fixed the bad distfile for kyua, so theorically it can find its way back in brew! and we don't need this (hopefully)
this idea has been there for years, pkg has a pluggable repository formats so theorically it is doable to consider the ports tree as yet another repository where pkg install...
then I will reopen and assign it to you :D
