it looks like you are right. I am fixed it with "charset: 'utf 8'" in the constructor config.

Hi I don't see any reasons to abandone this fork now Yesterday it helped with Symfony 5 support, tomorrow it will [help](https://github.com/stof/StofDoctrineExtensionsBundle/issues/422) with PHP 8 support

Like [this](https://github.com/stof/StofDoctrineExtensionsBundle/pull/423)? The original repo had a lot of great motivated contributors who can maintain the package. Although they aren't contributors yet
