This seems most likely to be an upstream bug. As far as I know, there is no way to control the ringer volume remotely.
Moving this to discussions, since it's not clear this is actually a bug.

Please follow the instructions to [Generate a Support Log](https://github.com/GSConnect/gnome-shell-extension-gsconnect/wiki/Help#generate-support-log), and re-open when ready, thanks!
Thanks! This doesn't like there are any errors on GSConnect's side, and it is broadcasting. Have you followed the steps in the [GSConnect Wiki](https://github.com/GSConnect/gnome-shell-extension-gsconnect/wiki/Help#connecting-an-android-device) for connecting a device?
It looks like GSConnect is broadcasting correctly, otherwise it would be throwing errors. If you refresh from the Android side while collecting logs, it should print the remote device's identity...
If you are not receiving identity packets from the remote device, then there is something blocking UDP broadcasts on your network.
If it works on one device and not the other, I think it's fair to say it's not problem in the client. Nothing has changed in the connection or discovery...
