I don't think I've noticed the lag issue, even with most recent commits. What kind of lag are we talking about here? Less than a second? More?

Oops, I forgot, it only occurs with mouse-click, keyboard interaction doesn't suffer the delay.

I wonder if this is more to do with graphics rendering, since I'm using pixel scale x2 and I got the crash with your 650-iteration example (tested on official 1.18.4...

In my case, at pixel scale x2, 636 iterations is okay, 637 iterations crashes. Resetting pixel scale to x1 allows for more iterations before crashing.

Conflict is due to HttT being moved to HttTC - not sure if this should also apply to the HttT revision.
