I personally like this idea and it solves some support issues I've seen where customers mess up their fstab by editing it for this need.

When a file is cut from a search result, it remains in the results even though it's not in the directory

I don't see the visual change when a file is cut. After pasting the file into another tab/directory and going back to the search results, the results are blank even...
