Not just the dark theme but the light one too suffers from this.

Another option would be to allow the users to select the folder in which saves are stored. This way the nextcloud client can sync the folder with other devices.

This is what I'm doing with RetroArch. It's not perfect and sometimes Nextcloud doesnt sync the files but it works most of the time.

Just a quick note, it is easy to rebase it to the GNOME 40 runtime if gspell and libhandy/libadwaita are added
