path of exile, invalid parameter recieved

when I start path of exile, the game doesn't launch. instead it gives me and error: invalid parameter recieved

libGL error: No matching fbConfigs or visuals found libGL error: failed to load driver: swrast

seems that the nvidia drivers are needed to run this application, but they weren't installed

once I installed the nvidia drivers, I got a bunch of font based errors

I'm getting this and I'm sure it's related to the NVIDIA drivers because before I installed them everything worked fine but after I did, I got all sorts of errors on all winepak apps. I'm trying to work around the issue now. I'll let you know if I come up with a solution.
