OK, so I'm going to assign this to Future, and leave it until someone who is a Windows expert and cares about compiling with Visual Studio wants to fix it.

Thanks, I saw that but couldn't be bothered thinking about whether the file needed more changes.

Leaving this as ongoing because it always seems to crop up, although the 4.0 refactor should have killed it.

I think this should really be Ongoing.

I'm going to kick this one to Future, I feel like it needs more thought.

Noise doesn't really matter, because it's all zeroed out at the start of make_noise() anyway. Scent could technically change monster behaviour; I'm not sure if it's worth worrying about though....

I take the point, and have had a think about combining the two functions, but it doesn't seem like an overall win. I'm going to punt it to Future, as...
