Could you go to about:preferences → Privacy & Security → DNS over HTTPS and disable Oblivious DNS and see if it changes the outcome?

Waterfox inherits it from Firefox. I am unsure if Oblivious DNS also respects this feature, but if you have the ability to test, that would be appreciated.
