Application window has white border after PC crashed during Waterfox update

Open e2heintz opened this issue 2 years ago • 2 comments

What happened?

I had a problematic stick of RAM and it caused a BSOD during a Waterfox update. Now Waterfox window has a white border around its sides and bottom. Even when maximised. And I can't get rid of it. I tried uninstalling, no luck. Also, importing settings from other PC where Waterfox is healthy, no luck. It actually happened some time ago now. I've been intermittently looking for some remnant temp files or something of that sort in available time, but I'm out of ideas.

That's a weird one! Could you try in troubleshoot mode?

That's a weird one! Could you try in troubleshoot mode?

Until today, I did not specifically try 'troubleshoot mode' as in 'activating it from the menu', but the roundabout way, yes - I have done everything the troubleshoot mode guide says I can do, multiple times over. So, to my absolute lack of surprise, activating troubleshoot mode changed nothing. There's still an ugly border. I manually searched for and deleted any and every file or folder labelled 'waterfox' on the whole disk, but still, no luck.
