This is actually the plan; the last few years, the performance improvements have become negligible by specifying higher `march` values.

@Tampa could you disable the sidebar by setting `browser.sidebar.disabled` to true in about:config? This way we can see if it's related or not. See if you can reproduce.

How are you disabling it? I was under the impression geo didn't work on Linux.
