OK, there ARE some custom search rules. May I check them?
1. When searching for numbers, European first. 2. Words IDEOGRAM, IDEOGRAPH, LETTER, LETTERFORM, MAN, OF etc are low-priority — either everywhere, or in scripts.
I can make work SQUARED low-priority in CJK, but search result isn’t that big. I really think about improving search results.
Which categories? You mean Unicode blocks?
I even thought up how to hide those ranges from search. Hard but I’ll try someday.
I thought of. Need some time. The order is SOMEWHAT alphabetical — a few fonts like Cambria are moved up. and fonts with names “Bold” etc are moved down.
There are lots of heuristics. E.g. the fewer scripts we support, the more specialized the font is.
The list (if complete) will be in alphabetic order. But choice of font WILL use heuristics. I even thought up choice: 1. Priority: primary / primary for [script] / high...
Because of local menu? If default character is graphic, there’s VS15 in local menu. And VS16, if default character is text.
