While I agree that API is ideal I think its quite hard now with current futures infrastructure. Is there a reason you can't get to something like `Arc`?

I will try and give this a review in the coming weeks I have a decent amount of backlog right now.
At this point I don't have much time for this and in general tonic will be moving to be lighter (will eventually post the roadmap when I finish it lol)....

Sounds about right. Tonic doesn't do any sort of checking for that and delegates to h2.
Agreed we can make this change. I believe we should do this in conjunction with https://github.com/hyperium/tonic/pull/830
