after further testing the game seems to be having trouble running when there's too much things popping up on it's HUD and doesn't have a dynamic framerate cap. the game...

Darkest Dungeon mode 1 :30 fps mode drop all : 45 fps (with black lines flickering but runs at the actual framerate)

@Electry sorry to mention you here, but as far as I know the game locks the framerate to 21-22 fps while outside the town so lowering the resolution doesn't help,...
