Advised as a first step by iirc Gecko to make it easy to reenable if someone comes out of nowhere and gives a good reason to keep this.

When does it occur twice? when launching with just `-northstar` or via NorthstarLauncher?

Are you doing in-tree builds? Those are *highly* frowned upon and no automated tool will ever even consider doing this.
