This was due to the original creators just extracting the current in-game texture, making it blue, and exporting it back as a VTF (probably), then using the default DXT5 format,...
This is because the game loads the v_model _(the animation)_ by default _(and is the one mod creators have to edit as that model is what the player will see.)_...

Im pretty sure this is a reference to apple's adverts at the time, so i dont think this should be changed. 
yea there's several backpack icons that differ from their "large" 512x512 texture and their small 128x128 version, for seemingly no reason.
This _might_ be hard to implement considering there's... _**81 separate bag models**_. (not including saxton) 9 for each mercenary wearing another class' bag.
