It's pretty unlikely that anyone ever relied on this (clearly unintended) behavior. I'd still count this as a bug, imo.

I'd prefer player-side opt-in This is *not* a franchise-specific feature, it is done by **many** different games.
I think it should be a compatabillity option, but I don't know of any levels that use it as a mechanic :P I actually never thought to try that XD
